After the usual start-up, did you notice that the washing machine is not picking up water? Or is water being poured, but too slowly? The cause of the malfunction can be either a blockage in the system or a breakdown of the AGR parts.
What if the washing machine does not work? Switching to hand wash is not an option. After reading the article, you will learn how to independently detect and fix the breakdown.
Why SMA is collecting little water - inattention
The reasons why the washer pours a little water can be very simple. Before proceeding with disassembly and repair, check the following parts:
- Unscrew the tap and see if there is water in the water supply. Perhaps, repairs are being carried out, and the supply is temporarily blocked. Also, a small pressure can become the cause of poor water intake. It remains only to wait until the normal flow resumes.
- Turn the inlet valve. If it has been shut off, it is not surprising that water does not flow.
- Inspect the inlet hose. Maybe it is transferred by some object, is bent, so it does not let water through.
- Incorrect connection of pipes leads to self-draining. If your connection is made directly to the sewer without a siphon, or the hose is connected more than 50 cm from the floor, self-draining of water is inevitable. See the instructions and make the correct connection.
Have you checked everything but found no problems? How much water should the washing machine have in general? It all depends on the selected mode. For delicate fabrics and baby clothes, more water is usually poured. With any program, it should be enough for washing.
Failures leading to slow water intake
The simplest problem might be an inlet filter blockage. All small debris that comes from the water supply is stopped by the filter. It protects the inlet valve. But there are more unpleasant breakdowns:
- Notice if the hatch door clicked when closing. The indicator “Lock” should be displayed on the board, which means: the door is locked. If this does not happen, then the UBL lock is faulty, so the machine will not start washing.
- The filler valve is broken or clogged. Perhaps his coils burned out. The valve is powered by electricity supplied to the coils, allowing you to open and close the damper. If the valve becomes clogged, it will not completely and for a long time fill the water.
- Blown electronic module. It controls the operation of all parts in a washing machine. Therefore, in the event of a breakdown, he does not give a command to draw water for washing and rinsing.
- If the level sensor malfunctions, the washing machine cannot “understand” how much water is in the tank. The sensor controls the amount of water in the tank, so without it the set will not start, or the water will drain.
Self troubleshooting
What to do if the machine "Siemens", "Hansa", "Samsung" stopped collecting water? Start inspecting parts and troubleshooting.
Inlet filter cleaning
Turn off the inlet valve, unplug the machine. Prepare the container and unscrew the intake hose. Immediately after the hose you will notice a filter mesh. Remove it with pliers and rinse under pressure from the tap.
Replacing the filler valve
To check the valve’s performance in washing machines of different brands - Ariston, Indesit, Electrolux - you need to remove the top cover from the case. An inlet valve is located at the rear wall.
Inspect the valve for damage. To check if it is working properly, apply current to the coils alternately. In this case, the valve turns on and opens in working condition. If nothing happens, replace the part.
- Disconnect the wiring from the valve.
- Unclip the hose clamps and remove them from the valve.
- Inspect the hoses for obstruction. The reason for the slow pickup may be due to reduced hose capacity.
- Loosen the screw that secures the valve and remove it from the body.
Level Sensor Replacement
A broken pressure switch cannot be repaired. To replace it, you also need to remove the top panel. Depending on the model of the machine, the sensor can be attached to the body with bolts or latches.
- Disconnect all wires leading to the sensor, as well as the hose.
- Remove the sensor from the housing.
You can check the pressure switch in this way:
- Place the short tube in place of the removed hose.
- Blow into the tube.
- If you hear clicks at the same time, then the sensor is OK.
- If nothing is heard, he needs a replacement.
Hatch lock
Lock hatch broke? Replacing yourself is easy:
If the washer draws less water due to problems with the module, then you should contact a service center. It is not recommended to repair the board yourself.
