In this article, we will consider what to do if the Bosch dishwasher gives an E22 error. She says that there is water in the pan, the drain does not work due to clogging. This is the type of breakdown that affects even the most reliable dishwashers. Bosch helps you identify it using a self-diagnosis system.
How to fix the problem and accurately decrypt the code, read on.
For what reasons does the code appear
Most often, the E 22 icon is displayed before the end of the cycle. The car washed, but before draining the water, the equipment freezes and gives a malfunction.
Less commonly, an error code is shown at the beginning or middle of a program. The user decides that this is a system failure, so he tries to restart the program. Once this may work:
- pull the PMM plug out of the socket;
- wait 10-15 minutes;
- restart the technique.
But if the problem really exists and some part in the dishwasher is damaged, then it will not be possible to reset the code - it will appear again.
We do not recommend restarting the Bosch dishwasher several times in a row. This may damage the electronic board. Have you noticed a mistake? Then proceed to its decryption and elimination.
If you often restart the machine, on the display you may notice new characters that indicate an error - E24.
What does the fault code mean?
Error code E 22 means that there is water in the sump, blockages have occurred in the drainage system. Here is what could cause the breakdown:
- Drain filter. Pieces of food from the dishes, small debris, broken glass - everything is washed off and delayed by a filter screen. It is clear that the waste water cannot go into the drain, so the system gives an error.
- Drain hose. If you notice that the code E22 alternates with E24, and after checking it turned out that the filter is clean, then it is worth inspecting the hose. How to do this is described below.
- Sprinkler problems. It happens that food enters the sleeve between the impeller and the pump. The sprayer is blocked.
If the error codes alternate, then the impeller of the pump does not rotate. The reason may be a thread or pieces of food that are wound on the base and blocked the work.
How to fix the problem
The first thing to do is inspect the dishwasher. Open the door, pull out all the basket for dishes from the hopper. Remove the filter, which is located at the bottom of the hopper. Clean it from dirt, rinse the mesh under the pressure of water. You can use a brush for cleaning.
Check the location of the drain hose. If it is bent or transmitted somewhere, then it is not surprising that the water does not leave and an error appears. See if the impeller rotates normally. If not, then remove it from its place and clean the sleeve of debris.
All manipulations did not bring results? Does the trouble code still appear on the display? Then you need to look deeper. You have to take the dishwasher a little.
What do we have to do:
- Disconnect the machine from the network.
- Disconnect all communications.
- Place an old blanket and rag to turn the PMM “on your back”.
- Remove bolts around perimeter of bottom cover.
- Remove the leakage sensor bolt.
- Remove and set cover aside.
- You will have access to the internal parts of the equipment.
- Disconnect the end of the drain hose from the pump. To do this, use pliers.
- Inspect the hose for obstruction, rinse under pressure from a tap. If the hose is damaged or worn, install a new element.
When choosing replacement parts, be careful. Choose only accessories for your brand and model PMM "Bosch", otherwise the purchased part may not work.
Now you need to remove the drain pump, check its impeller:
Install in the reverse order. After completing work, error E 22 should disappear. Be careful when loading the dishwasher, clean dishes thoroughly from food debris to avoid contamination and clogging.
